The runway season of autumn-winter 2019 came to an end with the long-awaited Paris Fashion Week. Between 25.02 and 05.03 the city hosted several fashion shows and, of course, gave us a lot of inspirations and trends! Check out the main trends of the fashion week:
Checkerboard
The “checkerboard” prints were a big bet on brands such as Kenzo, Off-White, Louis Vuitton and Uma Wang. They are great allies of a bold and fun look, and can be worn in many ways! Whether in a full overcoat giving the tone of the outfit or in detail of pieces.
Cape
They are stylish, eye-catching and make any outfit a total luxury. The capes came in full force in Paris fashion week, appearing in several runways and showing that, whatever the style, the trend came to stay. Whether in the daring and extravagant look of Balmain and Elie Saab or in the traditional and fancy Chanel, the capes were present.
Neon
The neon is on the rise! The colors are bold and extravagant, but … They have always been associated with the summer. The fall 2019 runways have arrived to break this paradigm and show that the trend harmonizes with more sober outfits. Brands like Balenciaga, Issey Miyake and Off-White bet on the colors, but it was at the Saint Laurent runway that they shone, came to life and left everyone breathless.
Bold shoulders
This fashion week, the shoulders were the great highlights, gaining volume and cool pieces of different styles. Whether in tailoring, heavy jackets or even in light dresses, shoulders were the big bet of brands. We can even say that it was one of the trends that won more versions and different models on the runways. Brands such as Balmain, Balenciaga, Giambattista Valli, Acne Studios, Maison Margiela and Loewe joined the trend.
Shorts no inverno
It’s time for the shorts to shine on the winter catwalks! Different than expected, they were present in several collections that showed that even in colder temperatures it is possible to dare and bet on the piece. Brands like Dior, Hermès, Saint Laurent, Nina Ricci, and Off-White bet on the trend and brought a freshness to the runways. Tip: If you’re thinking about investing in the look, bet on over the knee boots or tights!
