Known for the paradisiacal beaches and nightlife, Algarve is a destination that fascinates diverse kinds of people. But the region is not only a sanctuary for incredible vacations, but also surprises us with lots of culture and mountains. Do you want to plan your next trip and need tips?

 

The main places in the region are Portimão, Albufeira, Faro and Lagos, each one with its own peculiarities and beauties. Another interesting idea is to get lost among the several beaches in the way. Follow our guide and enjoy the sunny days!

 

Albufeira

For those who want a sea destination, incredible beaches but with a metropolis style, this is the perfect place. It is that place relaxing during the morning, and with a busy nightlife. When the sun goes down, bars and restaurants come to life.

 

If you want something different, you can visit the historical center or go a little further inland and visit bucolic villages with a unique nature.

 

The best beaches: The most famous is the Praia dos Pescadores, but if you prefer quieter places, you may also be interested in Praia de Santa Eulália, Praia da Falésia, and Praia de São Rafael.

 

Portimão

If you love the mountains but do not miss a dip into the sea, Portimão will make your eyes shining. In addition to the natural beauties, the city has a museum, a diving park, a racecourse and an incredible archeological site called Alcalar, which are worth a visit.

 

The best beaches in the city: One of the most famous beaches in the country is in Portimão, Praia da Rocha, but besides it, Alvor and Vau are also good choices.

 

Lagos

Do you want a trip with awesome beaches to relax? Your destination is Lagos! In addition, it’s a city that participated in the Portuguese Discoveries era, full of things to know. The town has a golf club, fort, zoo, and a breathtaking rock formation.

 

Beaches not to be missed: If you visit the city, prepare the beach tour to meet Dona Ana, Camilo, and Meia Praia!

 

Loulé

With an interesting and busy marina, Loulé is a famous destination in the region. The city also houses Roman ruins, a Water Park and a natural reserve that is worth the visit!
