All reasons not to miss the Manolo Blahnik exhibition in London

If you’ve ever watched “Sex and the City”, a pair of Manolo Blahnik shoes is sure to have already been on your Wishlist. The Spanish stylist has an elegant and classic style with doses of modernity that made his models be the darlings not only of dear Carrie Bradshaw but of a legion of fans. Now the designer will have his work exposed in London, at the Wallace Collection, in a must-see exhibition.

The free event entitled “An Inquiring Mind: Manolo Blahnik at the Wallace Collection” will celebrate the designer’s fascination with the London museum, which has become his unlimited source of inspiration. Showing a little of its history in doses of modernity, art and crafts, giving a highlight to its incredible shoes.

“The Wallace Collection has been one of my references since I arrived in London – was – and still is – one of my favorite museums with the best selection of works, and I am incredibly touched and honored to be a part of this project and see my work exhibited in the museum”, said Manolo, who is one of the curators of the exhibition, along with Xavier Bray, the museum’s director.

The environment was structured so that visitors will be invited to accompany a trip to the shoemaker’s inspirations, through a course with theme rooms. It will be possible to appreciate the shoes created for the film of Marie Antoinette, with a design so detailed that is able to make everybody breathless.

The exhibition takes place between June 10 and September 1 at the Wallace Collection.
