Chanel presents its Métiers d’Art at the Met Museum in New York

After Rome, Paris and Hamburg, Chanel goes to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, in New York City, to show its special Métiers d’Art 2019 collection – that celebrates the fine craftsmanship of the label’s artisans.

The set was chosen by Chanel’s creative director Karl Lagerfeld. The Temple of Dendur, built in 15 b.C. to honor the Godess Isis in Ancient Egypt, is at the Sackler Wing of the Met since 1978 and it was the best scenario to reveal the exuberant clothes with lots of references from Egypt – with its shiny pieces, fringes, sparkly stones and lots of gold. There were 80 outfits in total that crossed the catwalk in models with Cleopatra’s inspired makeup with colorful eyeliners in blue, black, white and gold.

For this season, lame gold pants (which were perfectly matched with same color boots), a skirt overlap, geometric patterns, denim + denim and maximalist jewelry. A true and desirable treasure!
