Everything you should know about Tim Walker’s exhibition at V&A

The exhibitions of the V&A (Victoria and Albert Museum) in London are some of the most beloved of fashion lovers. Now imagine combining the museum and your curatorial team with one of the greatest fashion photographers in history! Tim Walker, known for his fanciful photographs, is about to get a historic exhibition.

Tim Walker: ‘Wonderful Things’ will debut on 21.09. The exhibition will feature 10 unpublished photographs, as well as a selection of his most iconic works covering all his 25 years of career. Some of the most famous models in the world will be there, including Kate Moss, Edie Campbell, Stella Tennant, and Lily Cole.

“For me, V & A has always been a dream palace – it’s the most inspiring place in the world,” said the photographer in an interview with Elle UK. Walker has worked for the museum for 3 years and has also several works in his permanent collections.

In an interview with Vogue UK, curator Susanna Brown told Tim spent months exploring these collections. It was in contact with the 145 public galleries of the V & A that he got inspired for the creation of the new pieces.

“Many of the objects I saw during my museum research made my heart swell and I wanted to try to create a photograph that could be related not only to the physical presence and beauty of that object but also to my feelings to it,” said the photographer in an interview for Elle UK. It is difficult not to create great expectations about the photographs that are to come.

The exhibition will be on display until 08.03.2020, and tickets will be available from June, 13!
