Grace Kelly is honored in a new fashion exhibition in France

Grace Kelly has become a big name in cinema and remains a great reference in the fashion world! The actress, who starred in films such as “To Catch a Thief” and “Rear Window”, will be honored at a new exhibition at the Christian Dior Museum in France. Located in the house that belonged to the Dior family in Granville, the exhibition starts on April 27.

“Grace of Monaco: A Princess in Dior” will feature 85 of the actress’s lush dresses, which since her death in 1982 have been carefully kept in the Monaco Palace.

The head of the exhibition is the fashion historian Florence Müller. Upon receiving access to the files of the palace, she discovered that a third of the total pieces were from Dior – which only reinforced the importance of Grace’s relationship with Marc Bohan. The third creative director of the house (after Yves Saint Laurent and Christian Dior himself) even played the role of uncle to the two Kelly’s daughters, Stephanie and Caroline.

According to WWD, Müller said, “Bohan perfectly understood her role: she needed to be stylish, but respectful of etiquette. Before Grace of Monaco, royalty remained a private affair: princesses weren’t seen in public as much, or photographed by the press,” she explained. “She represents a moment of change of etiquette, a real rupture.”
