Pantone, a world reference in the control and specification of colors (worldwide recognized for its chromatic system broadly used in the graphic industry) recently revealed the official color for next year (2019) – Living Coral (16-1546). This tone, a mix of orange and pink, replaces the purple Ultra Violet, color of 2018.
The extensive trend research performed by the institute resulted in a lively and energizing color, social and spiritual, that represents the search for happiness and the necessity for optimism. “In reaction to the onslaught of digital technology and social media increasingly embedding into daily life, we are seeking authentic and immersive experiences that enable connection and intimacy,” explained Pantone.
The warmth of Living Coral can be an excellent equalizer: by one side it’s encouraging, and on the other it’s comforting. For that reason, bringing it to your daily life either by fashion, accessories or décor is way more than just follow seasonal trends, but to get a little bit of originality and contemporaneity to your routine.
Coincidence or not, different luxury fashion brands like Marc Jacobs, Prada, and Brandon Maxwell had bet in this tone for their Spring/Summer 2019 collections. The color, that wasn’t seen as a trend since the ’50s and ’60s, promises now to return with all its glamour at the end of this already historic 2010s decade. Get inspired!
