Good news for jewelry lovers! Prada is launching its own line of accessories in gold. The brand, which has always worked with bijous, is taking a new step and its first collection, signed by brand designer Miuccia Prada – who idealized the project – will be marketed from May.
This new project already has its own team. The brand has highlighted the technical work involved in the entire production process. In an official statement, it was revealed that they are “made with 18 carat gold and diamonds from suppliers certified by the Responsible Jewelery Council (RJC), a non-profit organization founded in 2015 to promote responsible practices in the handling of metals and precious stones, from its extraction until the sale”.
The debut collection consists of earrings, bracelets, pendants and necklaces. Its design is elegant, but it has an unusual touch. With the revival of some of the ludic pieces that have been presented in prêt-à-porter collections and designer accessories such as bananas, guitars, roses, rabbits and robots, as well as the brand’s triangular logo.
Prada’s jewelry line shows a growing movement among major brands in expanding their catalogs to this universe. Just this year, Gucci and Giorgio Armani have also launched their own high-end jewelry lines.
