The Resort 2020 runway season (also known as Cruise Collections) is approaching. Always predicting trends before summer, the biggest brands take the opportunity to set up fashion shows in out-of-the-way destinations in fashion capitals. Japan, Marrakech, and Rome are some of the places chosen by brands such as Armani, Gucci, and Dior.
Here are the dates and locations just confirmed for the big Resort 2020 shows:
Chanel in Paris
The show, scheduled on May 3, will be based in the heart of the brand, the Grand Palais, which has become inseparable from the brand since 2005.
Dior in Marrakech
Prepare your bags for Morocco, more specifically your charming city Marrakech! The Dior Cruise 2020 collection will take us straight to one of Yves Saint Laurent’s, Christian Dior’s first successor, favorite destinations. The brand has not yet announced where the runway will take place on April 29.
Louis Vuitton in New York
Nicolas Ghesquière, the brand’s artistic director, announced in his Instagram account that New York will be the destination for the next fashion show. The exact location has not yet been revealed, but it is believed that contemporary architecture will be the main focus.
Prada in New York
New York will also be the destination of Prada! Like Louis Vuitton, the exact location of the runway it is not yet known, but the date is confirmed: May 2.
Gucci in Rome
Alessandro Michele is a big fan of Rome, where he was born and takes much of his references. The runway show will take place at the Capitoli museum.
Giorgio Armani in Tokyo
This will be the first runway show for the brand’s Cruise collection and, although it has not been announced where, it is known that the date will coincide with the reopening of the Japanese flagship brand, the Armani/Ginza Tower.
Max Mara in Berlin
Max Mara has decided to honor the rebirth of the capital, as the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall is coming. The runway will be held at the Neues Museum, which was restored in 1997 by the British architect David Chipperfield.
