The best of women’s fashion at men’s fashion week

A growing movement has been drawing attention in the global fashion: the genderless ideology. The idea of a genderless fashion has made both designers and consumers understand that all genders can – and should – use the same fashion pieces, as long as they feel comfortable. The growth of male models in women’s fashion weeks is remarkable, but now it’s the opposite: women have won men’s catwalks and have shown they have come to stay!

Versace Men, Fall 2019

During the Fall 2019 season of Men’s Fashion Week, which took place in Paris between January 15th and 20th, more than 10 brands bet on women’s models to make up their team. Among them were Balmain, Prada, Versace, Jet Set, Unravel, Amiri, Enfants Riches Deprimés and Ann Demeulemeester.

And if you think they got there to change the tone of the collection, you’re very wrong! The models wore pieces that harmonized perfectly with the masculine looks, daring in loose tailoring, straight skirts and much more!

They show that more and more fashion can mix both genders regardless of whether the collections feature a more sober style like Prada, which told the story of Frankenstein in the collection, and Balmain, who bet on the b&w; or more fun like the Jet Set, which invested in sportswear pieces and vibrant colors to compose some of the most fun looks of the season.

Meanwhile, Versace (which is one of the most talked about luxury houses nowadays) has bet on two very different lines: a fun, with different prints ranging from jaguar to stripes and another highly sexy, in the way that only the brand knows how to do. Bella Hadid was one of the models chosen to participate in the runway, and of course, she dominated the catwalk!
