For you, art lover, who is planning your next trip, we have some news that will make you buy tickets to Paris right now: the Louvre Museum will have free entry on Saturdays. The initiative will happen on a Saturday per month throughout the year 2019, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:45 p.m.
Now, free Sundays come to an end. But why not take advantage Saturday night to have a tour full of culture? On these days, the Louvre proposes to visit two wings: Denon and Sully, which exhibit Italian and French paintings, Egyptian antiquities, Greek, Etruscan and Roman, and Islamic art.
But there is no need to worry about! It is in these spaces that are exposed to great masterpieces such as Monalisa, Le Sacre de Napoléon, Victory of Samothrace, Venus de Milo and The Seated Scribe.
In addition to Denon and Sully, the Richelieu wing can also be visited free of charge, in which are exposed the oriental antiquities such as Code of Hammurabi, Winged human-headed bull, artworks such as The Charlemagne’s sword and French sculptures in the Marly and Puget Courtyards.
The difference from this wing to the others is that, because of the number of activities that take place in it such as concerts, free entry will only be allowed with reservation and will be upon availability.
