Are you thinking about traveling or even moving to another city? Knowing the living costs of your future destinations has a great impact when organizing a trip. Last week, the World Cost of Living 2019 report by The Economist Intelligence Unit was released raising curious information. For example, 4 of the 11 cities on the list are in Europe, two of them in Switzerland.
This report has been made for more than 30 years by the company. This year, 133 cities were analyzed in categories such as housing, health, economy, environment or education. In all, there are 160 items that are compared in supermarkets, malls, etc.
For the first time, three cities are tied in the top of the list: Paris, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Last year, the French capital was in 8th place and the Chinese in 2nd.
On the other hand, Singapore has been at the top of the rankings for 6 years for one only reason: buying and driving a car is up to 2.4 times higher than countries already considered expensive, such as Norway.
In addition to Europe, the United States has two cities on the list: New York and Los Angeles. Their appearances in the list are due by two reasons: the strengthening of the dollar or the buzz of the cities that can charge up to $ 200.00 for a single haircut.
